Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon Brothers Zeus is an amiable god with an overinflated personal ego. He is clever and dazzling and has a tremendous leadership ability. He oversees the kingship and oversees the sky, lightning and thunder. He also oversees the sea, earthquakes, and metals. His brother Hades presides over the underworld. How did they become gods? The Greeks created a wide mythology that was a mix of early Greek culture and pre-Greek Mediterranean beliefs and other cultures that they intermarried with when they conquered their territories. This was especially true when it came to their gods. Often, the representations, personalities, and stories of Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades were quite similar to each other. This could be due to conventions in art, the fact that the brothers were close or the diverse stories that were told in different regions. Zeus was the first Olympian to take on Cronus the father of their children. Afraid that one of his children would overthrow him, Cronus swallowed Zeus' brothers and sisters at birth. Cronus his wife Rhea managed to escape the birth to save her son. Zeus was therefore the only child to live. Zeus and his brother Poseidon split the power when the Titans were defeated. Zeus reigned over the skies while his brother Poseidon controlled the seas. Hades attracted the worst of his brothers and sisters and became ruler of the underworld. Hades is typically depicted as a grim, ghastly figure who inspires terror and awe in everyone who meet him. He is often joined by Cerberus, the three-headed dog that guards his domain. He also wears a helmet called the Helm of Darkness, and his weapon is the bident which resembles Poseidon's trident. The ancient Greeks viewed the underworld as more of a spiritual realm than an actual hell. Hades was tasked with observing the souls of mortals and women who passed away in order to ensure that divine justice was done for their lives. He is also tasked with creating life, and bringing rain to those who need it. Zeus is the king of the heavens and the god of the Olympian gods. He is often depicted with a beard, and tridents in his hand. He is a strong and powerful god with the skin tone of a tan. The beard and hair of his are light brown and his robe is loose that shows his musclebound body. He prefers to use a trident and carries lightning bolts. What are their powers? Zeus and Poseidon share some similarities, but they are still very different. Each has its own power and strengths that allow them to fulfill their roles within the pantheon. Zeus is the king of Gods and reigns over the sky. Poseidon controls the ocean and Hades is the god of the underworld. Both brothers can kill their opponents with thunder and lightning. Both brothers are able to alter their appearance. This allows them to communicate with mortals at a more humane level. They can also regulate weather and are extremely powerful at sea. Hades is the Greek god of the underworld. Hades is a dark and threatening character. He isn't as warm or courteous as Zeus or Poseidon, and is also notorious for his moody behavior. He is responsible for punishing the dead. However, he does it with compassion and fairness. Hades is the god of protection for all things related to water. He is often depicted with his trident and Cerberus, the three-headed guard dog of the underworld in artful depictions. He is also very strong and his trident is able to cause the earth to shake. He can also create storms that can capsize ships instantly. He is also the patron god of the sea and horses. He is also a dangerous god to be around, and his anger can easily be provoked. The most popular story about the pair is their love affair with Persephone. She was the daughter of Demeter and Zeus and was kidnapped by Hades. Despite her initial resistance, Hades fell in love with her. Hades struck a deal with her. He would let her return to his underworld if she stayed a fraction of a year with him. Persephone was reluctant to leave her life and return to the realm of her father. She eventually complied with the terms. Hades was allowed to travel above the ground for a couple of times. How do they interact? Zeus and Poseidon are two of the gods with the most power in mythology. They are the children of Titan king Cronus and his wife Rhea and they defeated their fathers and became the supreme rulers of Olympus. They split their power and each ruled an area of the universe. Zeus was given the sky and kingship while Poseidon was given supreme control over the seas. The brothers are very close, but they fight frequently. Zeus is the most powerful and oldest god of the three. He is the most dominant of the two other gods in most situations. He is the most violent and ruthless of the Olympians. He uses his power to avenge mortals who annoy his or frighten him. But, he's a good father to his daughter Hera whom he considers as his most important offspring. She is a reliable companion and counselor, so she is highly valued by him. She is also capable of standing up against her father's reckless and reckless behavior. In contrast to his sister, Hades doesn't seem to share the same traits as Zeus. In some myths, Hades seems to covet and envy the power Zeus has. But in others the story, he is cynical towards his brother. Poseidon, the king of the seas, and earthquakes can trigger earthquakes, tsunamis, and storm surges. He is usually depicted with his trident held in his hand to demonstrate his power. He is also the horse king, and so he is able to take control of all animals that reside in his territory including sea and land creatures. He is also a god of the Underworld. This means he has the power to summon souls or exile them from life on Earth. He is usually portrayed with his three-headed dog Cerberus by his side. Holmes Trail is also the keeper of the throne of the dead, meaning he has the power to decide the fate of souls and to send them to either paradise or hell. What is the nature of their relationship? Zeus, Hades and Poseidon were the children of Titan king Cronus and his wife Queen Rhea. Each of these brothers controlled vast territories that were more than anything that any god could achieve. They were intelligent and wise leaders who were proud of their power. They were also envious. Zeus was jealous that his brother loved Hera. He wanted her to himself. To get her she was kidnapped, he took her to the Underworld. While there he made her drink his potion. This made her Hebe. Hebe and she was unable to return to Demeter until she had another child. This led to Persephone spending two-thirds of her time with Demeter and the other third with Hades. It also created the growing seasons. During her time spent with Demeter she began to neglect her duties as goddess of fertility. Hades was angry. He decided to get her back. He tricked her into changing into an unclean cuckoo. Knowing that she was a fan of animals, he placed her bird close to her chest and she fell in love with him. He returned to his former form and married her. After the wedding, Hades was a loving husband and father to their three children. He was insecure about his place on Mount Olympus. He wanted to be the center of the change. He suggested to the gods of other gods that he bring hell up to earth. After a long discussion they finally came to an agreement. Hestia, the goddess of peace is also responsible for keeping the other Olympians under control. She is also the patron goddess of marriage, and takes special care of married women. She was a religious woman, however she had some flings with her brother's husband Zeus. She had children both with mortals and nymphs including Triton and Theseus.
